Susan Kay Starck, 73, passed away at home on January 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
She was born in Lubbock, Texas, to Richard Paul and Norma Jean Osborne. The family moved to Houston when Susan was three, where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Susan graduated from Spring Woods High School and attended Stephen F. Austin University. Susan met the love of her life, Fred Starck, at the age of fifteen. They married four years later and were to celebrate fifty-four years of marriage on January 9, 2025.
She devoted 24 years as a library assistant at Klein Forest High School, where she was loved and appreciated by many special faculty members and students. She was an avid Aggie mom, and rarely missed an Aggie football game.
Susan loved life, travel, and cruising. They traveled the world, taking 18 cruises and visiting 36 countries. There was never a time when there wasn't another trip planned! Her favorite quote was "The world is a book, and those who do not travel, read only one page."
Susan never let her health issues keep them from doing what they loved most, and they created many special memories along the way.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Without fail, she always made the special moments "special".
Susan is survived by her loving husband, Fred Starck Jr.; son, Matthew, his wife, Christa, and grandchildren, Addison Mae and Wyatt Paul of Kaiserslautern, Germany; sisters, Barbara Osborne of Fullerton, CA, and Paula Roever-Eppright and husband, Fred, of Austin, TX; former brother-in-law, Robert Roever, and nephews Travis and Drew Roever. She will be missed by many friends who loved her deeply.
The family would like to thank the medical doctors and staff who took such wonderful care of her for many years. Special thanks to Drs. Lawrence Rice, Juan Gonzalez, and the compassionate nurses and aides at Hospice 365.
There will be a Celebration of Life to be held in the spring of 2025. Donations in Susan's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. She would be honored if you would consider being an organ donor and save someone's life. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/the-woodlands-tx/susan-starck-12161526
