I am sure everyone remembers Mei-Mei, a gifted artist and incredibly kind and generous soul. She had a very interesting family, as well.

It's thoughts of my friend Mei-Mei that call up my most vivid memories of the fun of high school. She was bright, creative, adventurous, and always ready to laugh. We were partners in crime on and off campus - during high school and in all the years since. She was the brains of the operation, I just drove the car. I was so blessed to have such a good friend for so many years.

Mei-Mei was one of the smartest, funniest people I've ever known. I remember that she sometimes referred to herself as The Big Swede, and she wrote "Stolen from Mei-Mei" on her textbooks!

Her family-of-origin's house was FILLED with National Geographic magazines, and I spent lots of time there enjoying delightful conversations with Mei-Mei and her mom.

What a loss.

I met Mei-Mei in youth group at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church on Blalock. One of the youth events was at her house. Her Mom fixed hamburgers and just let the kids eat and have fun. Brave soul. I remember Mei-Mei's skill in artistry was so innate and with such grace. I recall her acceptance of others, too. Not all folks have that and certainly not at such a young age. She was so funny and I remember her willing smile being somehow broader on one side than the other. I've wondered about her many times and know her loss grieves many, including me. Agape, Mei-Mei.

Goodness, Mei Mei and I were such good friends, I too knew her from St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, and Spring Woods Junior High, we were in Comarteens and advanced art class together with Robby Robinson.

Mei Mei and I would come early to class and work in the art class making whatever the school needed done. I'd ride my bike and pick her up at her house and we'd go in past everyone with our special permission cards, thinking we were so important.

She was so special and I miss her smiling face and contagous laughter....Jani
