Larry D. Reichle VIEW PROFILE

Larry D. Reichle

Larry Dean Reichle, of Giddings, transitioned peacefully to his eternal home on February 24, 2026, in College Station, Texas. Born on December 14, 1950, in Houston, Texas, to the late Lawrence Alfred and Wilma Norma (Roeder) Reichle, Larry's life was a testament to his faith, his artistic spirit, and his love for his family.

Larry's educational journey concluded with pride as he received his diploma from Spring Woods High School in the summer of 1969, leading to a degree in Commercial Art and Advertising from Texas State Technical Institute in August of 1971. His professional career was as colorful as his artwork, beginning as a Train Engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 15 years. His creative soul flourished as an accomplished artist and painter, leaving his mark on customized signs and marketing across the Texas Region. Larry's dedication to his work was evident in his tenure in grocery supply, distributing for ButterKrust bread throughout South Texas, a brand to which he remained loyal in shopping trips.

The joy of life for Larry was often found in the tranquility of nature. An avid fisherman, he was active in mid-life on the water in his Skeeter boat or from the shoreline of a quiet pond. He relished the thrill of bass fishing tournaments, often placing in competition. Larry enjoyed passing down his knowledge of fishing to his two children, Bubba and Amanda, who continue to catch slammers to this day. His love for music was showcased through his impressive vinyl record collection, and he was known for his ability to gracefully teach the two-step, dancing to the tunes of old country legends. Larry's home in the country was his sanctuary, where he enjoyed a slower pace, indulging in reading newspapers, engaging in dominoes games with family at gatherings, and barbecuing his famous ribs—complete with a signature sauce that was more about flavor than thickness. A scoop of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream was his sweet reward after a day spent by the pit.

Larry enjoyed spending time with family. He leaves behind his beloved mother, Wilma Reichle, lovingly known as Memaw, eldest sister Merle and brother-in-law Bill Yenny of Buda, his sister-in-law Kim Reichle of New Ulm, his youngest sister Marlene and brother-in-law Mike Leopold of New Ulm, and his cherished children—Lawrence Franklin (Bubba) and Tiffany Reichle of Spicewood, and Amanda Reichle and Eric Buchanan of Spring Branch. His grandchildren were a welcomed gift he loved, Cody and Hana Reichle of Spicewood and their children Parker, Paxton, and Payton, Cole and Tyne Reichle of Glen Rose and their children Collins and Clyde, and Allison and Ben Roark of Dripping Springs and their children Ava and Davis; the pride that will carry forward the legacy of creativity and humor.

Larry is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces, including Amy Madson, Justin Yenny, Katie D'Englere, Russell Yenny, Mitchel Leopold, Macy Rangnow, Marcus Leopold and great-nieces Haylee and Paige Reichle.

With such a large, nurturing family, Larry was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Alfred Reichle, his uncle William (Bill) Reichle, his aunt Lucille Warnken, his brother Jake Reichle, and his nephew Jason Reichle, alongside several cousins and extended family members.

As a man of Christian faith, Larry's life was reflected by a curious heart and his artistic touch, a testament of how he will be remembered by all who were blessed to know him. His conversations about weather and sports and his funny anecdotes will be deeply missed. This March Madness, we envision Larry watching from a higher seat and maybe joining in an Aggie baseball or football game with the same enthusiasm and love he shared with us on earth.

May his memory and legacy continue to inspire and comfort us as we hold him dear in our hearts.

A private graveside service will be held at the New Ulm Cemetery.
