OBITUARY

September 11, 1949–March 2, 2021.
Ronald loved his family and dedicated his life to taking care of the people he loved the most, his family and friends. Although Ronald never married, he had many friends and was loved by many and will be missed but not forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Evelyn Landers, brother Terry Landers and nephew Ricky Landers. He is survived by his brothers Charles (Katrina) Landers, Donald Landers and niece Charley Jo Landers and numerous cousins.
Ronald was a natural servient leader by allowing people to develop their skills and placed others above himself. He was a kind and gentle person who believed in people, helping them to achieve their goals, always a watchful eye out for what might be coming around the bend. He had a natural easy-going nature with a sense of humor that made many difficult situations better with a smile and a kind gesture of support by maybe a hand on your shoulder to reassure you that things will get better and he’s there to help. Ronald dedicated his life to his family and truly believed that helping others throughout his entire life was the best achievement one could contribute to the world. Despite all of the many challenges that he faced on a day-to-day basis, being that he was legally blind, was diabetic and on dialysis three times a week, he never gave up always moving forward smiling and laughing and occasionally a prank or two if he could get away with it, he had a sense of humor and enjoyed laughing and being with others. He like to have fun.
Ronald started his dedication to work and the commitment to excellence at a young age even in high school, delivered AV equipment throughout the building along with his brother Donald. Ronald dedicated his life at the young age of 18 along with his family’s solid commitment to charitable work with the Spring Branch Lions Club fundraising for the Lions Club camp until his passing. Ronald held other positions during his lifetime working at 7-Eleven stores in addition to SBISD. Ronald went on to graduate from college with an accounting degree while working at SBISD and put his organizational skills to good use. He achieved many things during his life time he was able to travel around the United States and world with the Lions Club. Ronald continued his servant leadership by not only becoming the District Governor for Lions District 2-S-2 in 1995 – 1996 and he served as Past District Governor he continued his charitable efforts by serving as treasurer for the club as well and participating in many charitable fundraising events in addition he would help set up for the meetings. In addition to his many achievements, he worked his way up to assistant director of transportation for Spring Branch Independent School District. He served the school district for 30 years with distinction. He especially enjoyed organizing many events for the SBISD transportation team. The events he enjoyed the most were the Christmas party and the end of the year party celebrating another successful year of transportation for the students in SBISD. He was famous for making his wassail at Christmas time which was enjoyed by all. Other organizations, he was a member of Texas Association for Pupil Transportation as well as the National Association for Pupil Transportation. Ronald also served as the treasurer for the Spring Branch Independent School District retired teachers Association for the past 12 years until his passing.
A celebration of his life will be held in the future as soon as things are safe for everyone to attend. An announcement will be made as soon as a venue date and time have been selected.
