Robert Gaedke VIEW PROFILE

Robert Gaedke

Robert Gaedke, 55, was found shot to death on October 30, 2007 in a bedroom of his Bethany home.  Police said Ross Gaedke, 22, killed his stepfather and then himself several days earlier in the home they shared.  The elder Gaedke was divorced from Ross Gaedke’s mother.

On Tuesday, October 30, 2007, the owner of a rental house called 911 to report that he had found his tenants dead inside the house.  The owner had made notification to the tenants that he was going to be entering the house today.  When he arrived he found several days worth of mail and packages on the front porch.  He went inside the house and instantly knew something was wrong because of an overwhelming foul odor.  The landlord later told deputies that he found one of the bodies in the house and then called 911 to report the incident.

Deputies entered the house and found the bodies of two men.  Both men were obviously deceased and no medical aid was attempted.  Detectives speculated that one of the individuals murdered the other and then killed himself.  Both of the deceased were adult males, one of them was in his 20’s and the other was in his 50’s.  The two deceased men are Robert Gaedke, 55 years old, and his step-son, Ross Gaedke, 22 years old.

I just found my yearbook and opened it up to a comment written by Bob Gaedke. I worked with him on the Safari yearbook. He was one of the photographers and a funny, sweet guy. I am so sorry to hear that he is gone.

I was saddened to hear that Bob Gaedke has passed away.
I met him for the first time in Ms. Clements' Spanish III class: he sat behind me and tapped out songs from Disraeli Gears on his desk! He was a very creative and humorous soul in the old Journalism room, as well.-Linda Freed Klinger
