Billy H. Melcher Jr.

Billy Howard Melcher Jr., 61, passed away on October 25, 2012 at his Ingleside home. He was born on December 17, 1950 in Houston, Texas to Billy Howard and Mary Virginia Gross Melcher. he was a devoted member of the Calvary Lighthouse Church in Portland, Texas. Billy Proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a retired Navy Civil Service employee.
He is preceded in death by his father, Billy H. Melcher Sr., and his grandparents, Hugh and Willer Mae Gross and Ray and Lola Mae Melcher.
His is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Mary A. Melcher of Ingleside, Texas; one son, Joseph Melcher of Ingleside, Texas; five daughters; Mary Campbell (James) of Midway, Georgia, Sarah Aguilar (Ricardo) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Melissa Melcher, Geneva Miller and Ehrin Hernandez (Raul) all of Ingleside, Texas, Marc Meeks (Brandee) of Cypress. Texas and Regina Gies of Tomball, Texas; his mother, Mary V. Melcher of Arlington, Texas; two sisters: Peggy Truelove of Jefferson, Georgia and Cheryl Wilcox (Tim) of Arlington, Texas, seven grandchildren: Jonathan, Brooke, Ty, Julian, Aubrey, Gabby and Noah, several Nieces and Nephews. He will be truly missed by his family, but we know he is in a better place.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., on October 28, 2012 at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home with family present from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Calvery Lighthouse Church in Portland, Texas.
Interment with military honors will follow in the Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass, Texas
